about us

Our Mission

We are committed to reaching each generation through the love, compassion and mercy of Jesus Christ, in order to reach the lost and lead them into the Kingdom of God.

Our Vision

We will engage and mobilize the Cedar Grove Community and Beyond through inclusive community programs, strategic social services and anointed worship opportunities in order to edify, equip and enrich the lives of others.

Our Heritage

All praise and glory to our God and his son, Jesus Christ. It is with unfeigned humility that I write this epistle to you. I am extremely fortunate to have been chosen by God to lead this ministry during this season. This season is a very interesting one, in that it is a season that will require an exponential amount of faith.

I pause, to honor the men who led this Church before my tenure, Superintendent Louis Hilton White, Sr. and Dr. Stephen Bradley, Jr. I did not know Superintendent White personally, but I recall the many stories told to me as a child, regarding his distinct personality and powerful anointing. He was indeed a giant in the faith. God used Superintendent White and his lovely wife, Evangelist Charles Ann Young White in 1939 to relocate a ministry from the Fred Spur Community to Cedar Grove. Because of their obedience to God, the 80th Street Church began to see exponential growth early on. The many revivals conducted by Evangelist Utah Smith, Pastor Jack Johnson, and others will forever be etched on the walls of history.

Lastly, Dr. Stephen Bradley, Jr. was a great man that I was fortunate enough to know personally. I will forever cherish the many conversations we had at “Waffle House” or on the telephone. He was a one-of-a-kind character. His tenacity and charm along with the anointing and prayer life of First Lady, Evangelist Estelle Bradley, drew hundreds to the 80th Street Church. They were concerned about the community and its inhabitants. Dr. Bradley was a fearless, unapologetic, and daring leader and we miss him and Lady Estelle dearly. Their legacy of love and faithfulness will undoubtedly live on for generations.

I also pause to pay homage to the many men and women who served in numerous capacities down through the years, to make sure that this ministry stayed afloat. Many of them are now asleep and are resting from their labor. Those who remain, I emphatically say thank you!

We are now in the season of “Beyond”. My favorite scripture, which is Ephesians 3:20 reads “Now unto him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above (beyond) all that we can ask or think according to the power that works within us.” The season of “Beyond” knows no limits, restraints or excuses. We can and We Will become all that God has destined for us to become, individually and collectively. We are above and not beneath, we are the head and not the tail, we are the lender and not the borrower. We take possession of everything God has for us. I am encouraged to run on and see what the end is going to be. Please allow me to adopt an adage originated by Bishop Charles Edward Blake, Sr. “I see the Historic 80th Street in the future and we look much better than we do right now.”
